CONTINUOUS CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL USING READYDAQ

CONTINUOUS CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL USING READYDAQ

The very basis of the control engineering mechanism, the feedback loop consists of five elements. Its starts with the process which is to be controlled, followed by the sensor which is used to take measurements and the measurements are further converted into electronic signals using a transmitter. The controller, after reading the value either approves or disapproves the input value and based on its outcome, the actuator corrects the error as per the controller’s requirement, if required.

Mainly, there are two types of control systems namely open-loop and closed loop, but, if we further consider their individual functionalities, there are numerous control systems. Today, we talk about the continuous closed-loop control system and how ReadyDAQ contributes to utilize the same and optimize the output.

In a closed-loop system, feedback is observed as the signals travel around a feedback loop starting from the process element and going up to the actuator, only to start back again. Not all closed loops are alike and in the case of a continuous closed-loop, a set point value is set around which the whole process maintains its functionality. To further generate an error signal, the difference between the latest signal and the set point value is calculated. This error signal is used as a reference and its magnitude and duration is used to determine the value of the output which further decides the actuators corrective measures.

Using ReadyDAQ, designing, configuring and running a closed-loop control is convenient. ReadyDAQ is an expert in control mechanisms and a very common application includes the cruise control mechanism of a car. Using the speedometer, the speed of the car is measured and maintained. In case of over speeding the controller slows down the car and pushes up the accelerator when the speed is below the set point. The process needs continuous feedback to maintain the desired speed value which can be easily designed using ReadyDAQ, which has been made in the LabVIEW environment offering its users the ease and comfort to customize according the application specifications and saving them time and money in terms of development of the application. The concept can also be applied to control the flow of temperature, pressure and tank levels.

We, at ReadyDAQ make it priority to offer utmost quality of service to our users and provide full support during the development process with additional customization features as per your needs and requirements.
